Help! Problems with a Nissan Micra "05 UK immobiliser?

Left the car for over a month so disconnected the battery as per the manual. When I went to start the car it was totally dead. Towed to the garage, mechanic says it's the keys - they have lost the "code" & only a Nissan dealer can re-program! Can the keys be programmed w/o the car (save on a "HUGE" tow" )?Anyone know about this? Since I travel & the car will be left for long periods, I'm concerned that this will happen each time I leave & return and/ or whilst on a journey. Just bought the car at the end of last June. Is this a warranty issue?

The car and the keys will have to be at the dealers in most cases. Check with the dealer though as sometimes this can be done if you have all the numbers that they need but, it may need them to order a brand new key which could take a couple of weeks to arrive to do it that way.

You need to ensure that you have a good newish car battery but after a month with an alarm on most cars will use up all the battery power.

You also need to ensure that the batteries in the remotes/keys are fresh as well.
